OCTOBER

This is the start of the Scarcrow Walk up in Park City. The Hogans had their annual week in Park City and this is one of the fun things we decided to do. Not real sure what it is all about but it seems Different People and Organizations Donate or Enter the scarcrows and they are put on display, there were some very creative and gross entries. My camera ran out of batteries so this is the only one you get to see... My family got the flu bug on the Thursday before the Saturday we were supposed to go up. It seemed to last all weekend so we missed the first few days but we were able to go for a couple of days in the middle of the week, I think the kids had fun getting away. Not to mention the weather was BEAUTIFUL! I love fall days that hover in the low 70s.

Drew's Preschool had a Halloween party where all the kids got to dress up in their costumes and play games. He had such a great time. All the kids had fun costumes and not to mention Mrs. Tiffany Rocked that Pirate Costume! LOVED IT!!

Halloween Night we did Trunk or Treat at the Church. They also had a Chili Cook Off and HotDogs before we started. This year Drew was a little upset we did not go to houses. I must admit I love Trunk or Treating at least for now maybe when the kids are all in school we can do the more traditional thing at least once. The first photo is of all the cousins (sans Jack, Cody and Weston who were in Vernon) at my Moms house. Mom had special special treats for the kids that we got to go pick up. Everyone looked Fantastic! I really liked how Drew, Sophie and Phoebes costumes turned out. Phoebes was A Dorable as a spider (got that idea on a morning show) Sophie was so cute all the ladies at Grandma Js wanted to eat her up. Drew really wanted to be a Super Hero of some sort but I talked him into the Lego Brick. I stressed about how to make it work but it came together and I think he liked it too.

Grandma Purvis gave the kids a Haunted Gingerbread House. I was surprised how well the pieces stayed together despited shipping across the country. We only had two craced pieces and were able to put them back together. We decided it was a manufacture design error on how steep they decided to pitch the roof with out more support than royal icing. No matter who hard we tried we could not get those outer pieces to stay. I think we might write to let them know a way we think they can solve that problem. The kids has fun, I think Sophie put more candy pieces in her mouth than on the house!

A couple of weeks ago, I was sitting at our table reading or somthing and I hear Drew in a sing songy voice "Mom, Phoebe has a helmet on her head". I look up to find.... (See photos below)

These are Happy Meal Buckets and Sophie loves putting them on her head, she discovered how perfect they fit on Phoebe's head too. Poor Drew no matter how hard he tried could not get a bucket to even stay on the back of his noggin. Anyway.... Note Drews pose in the bucket photo, this is his new "Down Hill Skier" Pose. I have no idea where this comes from. But I love it! The best part is he bends his kness and sticks out his butt. Dont get me wrong I love the closed eyes, tounge out and thumbs up too.

~SEPTEMBER~

These Pictures were taken on my Birthday. We were getting ready to go to Salt Lake. Drew found a bag full of magnifying glasses he thinks they are pretty cool. I was trying to show Sophie how to pose. Drew took the picture of me, sadly this is how they have been seeing me lately. I have been real busy with Real Estate which is a blessing. That means I am on the phone and on the go a lot. Drew has started asking every morning where are we going today. It has been an adventure that is for sure, and not possible with out all the help from my family! Phoebe is growing like a weed. She recently had her 4mo. check up and the Docotor said she is as big as a 9mo. old. She is 26" Tall & 17Lbs, she is in the 97th Percentile. We will she if she can keep this up. Im sure she will start slowing down just like Drew. She is lots of fun and hiting all her milestones. She loves to talk and give smiles and is a little trickey to put to sleep!

Drew started preschool this month. He gose to his Aunt Tiffany's school I guess I should say Mrs. Tiffany's School. He loves going and learning he looks forward to class each week. He goes with a great group of kids from the neighborhood. Im so happy he enjoys school and hopefully that will continue!

They got the same PJs

Our Summer So Far!

So summer is almost over however we did manage to get in a few fun things. Plus Mrs P. and Sarah were able to visit! Mostly we stayed home, I'm not one to get out with the kids on my own (specially now that theres 3) and Rob was gone most the summer to School.

My Family went camping up Ophir, we went up a couple of times and spent the day but did not stay over. Drew was bummed about that, however he sure did make the most of it while we were there. They loved playing in the stream and sitting around the fire. Have you ever noticed how dirty Ophir's dirt is? I love it up there it reminds me of when I was younger. It a great place and its so close!

While Mrs P and Sarah were here we took a trip to the Dinosaur Park in Ogden. The kids loved that too. Once Sophie was told they would not eat here she relaxed and was able to have some fun.

We did make it to Lagoon for Stake Lagoon day and got a bounce back for $10 because it was so so cold. 55 degrees in middle of June... Remember that?! Drew and Sophie love that place. Now every time they see the commercial they yell and scream can we go back. Phoebe could care less of course I cant wait till we all can go and have fun. Sophie wants to ride all the big rides and shes not quite tall enough, thank goodness. I had the hardest time letting me go, they just seemed to little to ride by themselves. They did a great job and proved to Mom they are older then I think.

We have our Hogan Family Reunion this weekend to wrap up our summer activities. We are headed to Crystal Springs I am really looking forward to it, I love all the memories we can make with our extended family. Its always a good time.

*PHOEBE*

Here are some recent photos of Phoebe. She is staying awake a lot long during the day so it is easier getting photos of her with her eyes open. She is a really good baby. She has a lot of adorable facial expressions one she has been doing since birth is the second photo. We call this her Pirate face, every time she does it we go Arrgh! She is a blessing and we love having her as a part of our family!

One Of Those Faces...

How do you say no to this?

HERE WE GO AGAIN.....

So it is time... Time for potty training. We started this morning. I'm thinking now I should have waited another couple of months. With Phoebe not really on a schedule yet its hard to get anything done let alone take Soph to the Potty every 15 mins. Soph is doing OK I guess no No1 in the potty yet but we did manage to be on the potty at the right time to catch No2.... The saving grace is knowing that in a week or two she will be trained.

OUR NEW ADDITION

She's here, Phoebe Skye Purvis Born May 17 at 11:47 PM. Already asserting her Independence she didn't want to wait another 2 weeks to be born (I was scheduled Tuesday June 1 for a C-Section) truth be told either I did not want to wait either however I was not ready for her to come early. There were rooms to clean dishes to do, things to put away.

Monday the 17 about 10AM the Flu hit me like a ton of bricks. I was so sick, I didn't eat or drink anything all day by 4PM I thought I was going to die. It was becoming harder and harder to tell the difference between my stomach cramps and contractions. About 7PM my Dad and Uncle Lee had come over to give me a blessing and I decided maybe I should go to the Hospital just in case... Weather it was contractions or stomach cramps they were coming every 5 mins by the time we hit Salt Air they were coming every 3 mins. I had never gone into labor before so I was not really sure what to expect. Once we got to the Hospital and they had an IV drip in I started to feel much better I was still have regular contraction but they had slowed down. I was dilated to a 5 and my Doctor decided it was best if I had the baby that night. Everything went well with the surgery and Phoebe was born at 11:47 that night.

I was able to hold Phoebe the rest of the night and keep her in my room. By the time the Pediatrician got in in the morning Phoebe was swept away and taken to NICU. She was very jaundice and it was determined she was Coomb's Positive (Where my blood creates antibodies against her blood, which causes her red blood cells to breakdown causing a lot of Biliruben in her system making her Jaundice) Her Bili count was so high they gave her a shot right away (Which help break down Bili) and determined she would need intense light therapy to bring her Bili count down (The reason they worry about high Bili counts is if her numbers get too high it can cause irreversible brain damage). Other than the Coomb's Positive disorder she was perfectly perfect. While in the NICU I was able to hold her during feedings (every 3 hours) we could take her out of the lights for about an hour they she would have to go back. Phoebe ended up being in NICU for 8 days. I was discharged on a Friday and she was discharged the following Tuesday. I was so thankful that she was completely healthy and developed she just had all of my antibodies she was trying to get rid of. Her little system was working overtime trying to compensate for that. All I wanted was to take her home and be able to hold her for as long as I wanted. Which thankfully now I can.

Below are some Photos of Phoebe in the NICU, it looks a lot worse than it was. I always felt weird going into the NICU, knowing Phoebe was not in a life or death situation. We new it was a matter of days before she would be coming home. Thankfully she was born in a time where her disorder was completely treatable. Some of those babies had been there for months or would be there for months. I know how difficult it was for our family having her in there for 4 days after I had been discharged. We were able to go in every day and spend time with her. I don't know what we would have done if she would have been in there longer.

Thank you for all your prayers and well wishes. It is truly what we needed.
