Thursday's Adventure

I'm not one to go into town. I mostly stay at home unless I HAVE to go somewhere. I usually write the list and have Rob do the errands. I'm not sure what got into me yesterday I guess I had a little bit of an adventurous spirit. We went into town to eat and get hair cuts. I took the kids to McDonald's yes we even went inside to eat so Drew could play on the slide, which he loves. I hate the play zone at McDonald's, and not because of all the potential germs he is touching or all the screaming, running, yelling kids. Its because he gets in that play tube and I cant see what is going. That drives me insane! What if he is pushing or hitting other kids or he gets hurt and needs help? There is no way I can fit up that tube. So I hold my breath each time he goes in and exhale a little when he pops his head out the clear bubble at the top and completely when he reaches bottom. Too stressful for me but Drew was excited and Sophie just loves to get out of the house. I grinned and bared it for at least 20 Min's or as long as it took to eat my food.

Then it was off to get hair cuts. Initially it was just Drew but Soph's hair was looking a little ragged (the hair she has) so I asked if she could get a trim. Drew's hair turned out really good. He looks so different not having those big curls all over his head. Sophie loved loved loved getting her hair done. She sat so still and smiled at all the ladies, she even sat through the blow dryer. The stylist round brushed her hair in the back a little bit. She didn't want it to be over. It was very cute. They charged me full price for Sophie's hair, literally 4 snips. The whole experience did not take more that 5 Min's. I should have confirmed the charge before I had her do it. I guess the hair dryer and round brushing must have pushed it over the edge. However Sophie did enjoy the experience so I shouldn't be so bothered about the $9..... Right?

Coming home the kids fell asleep as usual except Drew was in the back back of the Durango and I did not have any help. Thinking I could get him out with out waking him up.... Holding him going backward out of the door, I did not lift my arm up high enough and scraped my arm really bad on the latch of the folding middle row of seats. I thought I had ripped it open it hurt so bad luckily no broken skin. Nothing a ice pack cant help. Thankfully.

***Warning Graphic Mouse Trapping Story****
To top off the day. Rob gets into bed last night and tells me he trapped a mouse. You see for the last few weeks in the evening after the kids are in bed we have seen mice (its always just one mouse but it has happened at least 5 times) scamper in the living room. Come to think of it, it all started the night Mrs. P and Sarah arrived from NY. I wonder if they were playing a flute on the way from the airport.... I know it has nothing to do with the fact the we live in the middle of hay field. Anyway Back to last night. I said before you came to bed (because its always after we are sleeping they get caught) he said ya, and the trap only caught his leg and I was afraid he was going to get away so I stabbed him with the grilling fork. Mind you I was already in bed sleeping when he came and woke me to tell me this story. This morning however I find it disgusting and quite humours but last night all I could say was, that is pretty violent don't you think. Rob said the mouse peed and shat everywhere after being caught not to mention the stabbing.... so he had quite the mess to clean up. He said he washed the fork, but I will soak it in bleach today and still I don't know that we can use it again. Maybe it can be our mouse "hunting tool"....

Whew.... Here's to a new day! We are thankful for each one we receive.

Grandma Purvis & Aunt Sarah

While Robs Mom and sister were here we did do a few fun things. The bad part I did not get any pictures of except for a few... I need to get better at that. Sarah took a lot I should ask her for copies! We went to Thanksgiving Point on Saturday afternoon which was great timing for the Museum of Ancient Life which is the largest in North America. Drew said he had a good time and only got scared a little bit. There were a lot of "Touch Me" parts and things for kids to do which I thought was very cool. We had dinner at the Harvest Cafe near the General Store and not only was it good but priced very reasonably. I would have loved to see the Gardens but that will have to be another time.

Below is the only photo I got of Sarah. She is so good to play with all the kids and they love when she is here to visit. We love it when Aunt Sarah comes to visit too, she always gives us a much needed break!

Aunt Sarah giving Wyatt, Drew and Sophie wagon rides!

Monday night Mrs. P watched the kids while Rob and I went to the Movies. It was so nice being able to get out of the house just the two of us. I cant remember the last time we did that. Thank you Mrs. P you are always so good to us. You really took care of Rob and I and the kids on your visit. It is always so good to see you. Mrs. P gives the kids so much attention while she's here I think they go into withdrawals when she leaves. Drew asked every morning for 4 days, where did Grandma Purvis go? Why? The kids love it when she comes to visit, endless days of reading books taking walks and playing to their hearts content.

Tuesday before Mrs P. left we were able to have lunch at Penny's. They have really done a great job of renovating. The food was great! My only disappointment came when I wanted the Garlic Burger and they were sold out so I had the Smothered Burrito instead. YuMmY! Then we headed into Tooele to the Park, we happened to drive by the Train Museum and it was open so we stopped in. That is a great little place. The miniature train was running I think Drew went on it 3 times, he loved it. I got a personal tour through the Museum itself and learned a lot about Tooele in the early days. After we headed to Elton Park for a short while and let the kids play. All in all it was a great day.

We had a lot of fun with Mrs. P and Sarah, their visits are always too short however we will take whatever we can get.

RANDOM PHOTOS

DREW:

This is Drew's David Beckham Hair.... His hair is getting so long, I really need to get it cut. Sophie does not have enough hair to do anything with so I figured I would try something with Drew's hair. So he got the David Beckham Do.

SOPHIE:

This is Sophie in Drew's Froggy Boots. These happen to be Drew's favorite shoes to wear, EVERYWHERE! Sophie loves to put on everyones shoes she got these mostly on by herself but I did help some. I had to get a picture, she was so proud of herself and she looked so cute.

NEW PAINT!

I have updated our Kitchen, Living Room and Bathroom with some new paint colors. I really like how it turned out. My favorite would have to be the kitchen, but the others look nice too. I have to thank my Mom first for talking me into it and second taking my kids during the day so I could get this all done before my in laws came to visit. We started on Tuesday evening and Robs Mom and Sister came in Late Thursday night. Needless to say there were a lot of long days and late nights. I finished putting things back together showered sat down to relax before going to bed and they walked through the door.... What timing! I must thank Rob as well he did mask most everything and helped with some painting. Rob you made everything go a lot smoother and faster than if I had to do it by myself! Thank You! Thanks to Tammy as well with out here there is no way I would have been done in time, she did the first coat in the Bathroom!!!
